In the previous two years, the pandemic, which was caused by coronavirus, has in many aspects influenced the change of business philosophy and the organization of life in general. There are certain expectations that this will affect the way of life and the organization of business activities in the future as well. As far as the organization of work in companies is concerned, the new circumstances have imposed a new philosophy of organizing work. Thus, many companies switched to the model that a significant number of employees work from home, which required that the concepts of work organization be adjusted to that. This inevitably led to a change in the internal audit process – that auditors generally organize their work from home. This work is based on the establishment of newly defined ways of communication with audit clients within companies, on the implementation and use of various applications and platforms. All this has resulted in conducting a more agile and shorter audit, changing the way of communication and reporting on audit results and the like. The profession is faced with the dilemmas of internal auditors, their necessary skills and personal characteristics in order to perform their work even in such changed conditions with quality and in accordance with the requirements of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. In this regard, fellow lecturers will remind us of some important topics and issues that are the basis of our work and which in changed circumstances can be neglected or lost sight of, and the foundations of the profession must not collapse.

Session B

11:35 – 13:05

Electronic Invoices as an Obligatory Step Towards Business Digitalization

Moderators:
Zoran Petrović, PhD

Speakers:

  • Verica Teofilović, Finance Director, Doncafé Strauss Adriatic
  • Marko Danon, PhD, Head of Competitiveness Unit, NALED
  • Nenad Solujić, CEO, Doclop d.o.o.

Digitization of business, including accounting and financial business is a prerequisite for the improvement and survival of companies. Many subjects do not understand this and do not have an independent initiative to enter into that procedure. The enactment of the Law on Electronic Invoicing imposed an obligation on entities to digitize a part of their business – in connection with the issuance, receipt and storage of invoices. When an obligation is imposed, it is easier to fulfill it and more correct if it is understood what the possible benefit of it is. Therefore, the aim of the session would be to provide the subjects with information on all aspects (positive and possibly negative) of the digitalization of this part of the business. The interlocutors would be from the economy, entities that deal with mediation in this business, and if possible from the relevant state bodies.
